Know Your Rights During the Pandemic

January 2021

The new guide, Know Your Rights During the Pandemic, (At this link) written by President Doromal, combines the December 8, 2020 Safety and Reopening Schools MOU, CTA Contract language and policies and procedures from the OCPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Procedures Manual.

The guide was prepared to help you to:

  • Understand the MOU provisions, contract language and policies and procedures that provide working condition protections during the pandemic;
  • Know when to take steps to protect and enforce your rights to ensure a safe and healthy workplace;
  • Provide you with enforceable language for specific situations to share with an administrator or supervisor to correct and remedy any violations that occur;
  • Know when to contact OCCTA for assistance in protecting your rights

Of course, contract language and agreements only work if they are enforced. Stand up for your rights! Join your peers and coworkers to stand up for your rights as a group. Bring concerns and potential violations to your Faculty Advisory Committee to document that your administrator or supervisor was alerted and push that all CTA agreements and contract language, and OCPS policies and procedures are followed.
