Dear Educators,
Thank you to everyone who joined us at today’s bargaining session! Your presence makes a difference—showing the District that educators are united, engaged, and paying attention to what happens at the table.
Here’s a summary of today’s key developments:
- Tentative Agreement #2 Signed: The parties reached a tentative agreement ensuring that the last Wednesday of the school year will be reserved for teachers to complete activities related to closing out the academic year.
- False Claims Proposal: The District presented a counter-proposal regarding false claims. In response, CTA submitted a counter-proposal accepting the District’s language with the addition of a provision to further protect educators. We are awaiting the district response.
- Walkthroughs Proposal: While the District rejected our walkthroughs proposal, CTA shared that we maintain our proposal but remain committed to working collaboratively with the District to craft language that addresses concerns on both sides.
- Climate Survey and AI Proposals: CTA gave updated proposals on both of these issues reinforcing our commitment to ensure these issues are thoughtfully addressed in the contract.
Looking ahead:
Tomorrow’s bargaining session will begin at 10:00 AM at the RBELC. Following the session, we will transition into a CTA/District workgroup focused on outstanding items related to CTA’s proposals on Article XIV (Duty Day).
We appreciate everyone who attended today and encourage all members to stay engaged and informed throughout this process. Your support strengthens our ability to advocate effectively at the table—we truly are #strongertogether. RSVP HERE to attend bargaining tomorrow and/or Wednesday July 16th.
In unity,
Clinton McCracken
