Dear Educators,

Thank you to everyone who attended today’s bargaining session. Your presence sends a powerful message to the District that educators are united, informed, and paying attention. Your feedback after the meeting is equally valuable, and it helps shape our next steps at the table.

Today marked our second bargaining session of the year. Economic proposals have not been presented yet. The District is currently waiting on the release of the fourth FEFP calculation, which will reflect updated enrollment figures.

We’re proud to announce a tentative agreement on the sick leave donation provision, reducing the required minimum number of sick days that a recipient must have in their own balance from 10 days to 4. This important win is a direct result of our collective advocacy and solidarity. We also want to thank the members who were willing to share their personal stories—your readiness to step forward helped underscore the need for this change.

The District responded to several of our proposals. In some cases, they asked clarifying questions; in others, they plan to bring counterproposals at a future session, including on the following key issues:

There was productive discussion around planning time for non-classroom educators and equitable distribution of students. Additionally, the District agreed to our proposed language ensuring no meetings or requirements on the final Wednesday of the school year, preserving that time for teachers to prepare for the close of the year.

In addition, a workgroup will be established to make recommendations on adjusting the schedule to implement a guaranteed 30-minute duty-free lunch. If approved, this change would go into effect for the 2026–2027 school year.

Your bargaining team is now reviewing feedback from the District regarding proposals they have pushed back on, including:
